In her stormy passage yesterday (26 July), ‘Betty II’ suffered damage to her deck!
This quickly illustrates one of the advantages of sailing in company with the Gaffers . . . A boatyard repair shop is set up in the small cockpit of ‘Betty II’. There’s timber and a jigsaw from Ed on ‘Hester’, with glues from Piers on ‘Carlotta’. Suitably equipped, ship’s carpenter, in the person of crew member Paul, quickly gets to work with repairs.
A few hours later and the deck is good as new. Thanks to everyone involved!
